For mockumentary fans and devotees of the BBC series The Office and Christopher Guest movies (such as Best In Show), Confetti is a treat. Confetti watches much like the aforementioned programs, chronicling three couples competing to win the fictional Confetti Magazine's 'Most Original Wedding of the Year' contest. The task of winning the contest is assigned to one set of wedding planners who must bring the three vastly different couples up to speed with their three different wedding themes: tennis, a Hollywood musical and a nudist wedding. Families, best friends, the magazine staff and the couples' ideas and words collide, as everyone wants their influence in the festivities. The movie's style feels familiar enough, with the improve dialogue and uncomfortable situations it delivers, and it helps that it stars The Office's Martin Freeman (a.k.a Tim), who brings his impeccably timed facial expressions with him. Confetti is pure entertainment with the dry wit that makes this genre so comical, while hosting some genuine, lovely and heartfelt moments.
